| Suggested by Dr. Malone,Professor from Louisiana State University, USA, a Network on GIS of Schistosomiasis Control in China was established during the WHO Training Course in Applications of Geographic Inforamtion Systems (GIS) in Schistosomiasis Research, November 1998. The objectives of the network are to link with all participants in the course and exchange experience on GIS research and application. The working group of the network will be in GIS laboratory of Jiangsu Institute of Parastitic Diseases, Wuxi, PR China. The working group will help answer or solve any question or problem in the GIS/RS application through the network. It was also suggested that a workshop on Application of GIS/RS in Schistosomiasis Countrol in China can be Organized in 2000.
This network consists members from the participants of the WHO Training Course in Wuxi, November 1998, and will distribute news of meeting, training, reference books, ralative software, websites of interest, as well as some research results in the field of schistosomiasis apllied by GIS technology.
